Wine Tasting Experience


Have you ever wondered what parts of the grape are used in winemaking, or why different glass shapes are used for different wine varieties? If so, the Château Élan Wine Tasting Expe­ri­ence for Two will make for a fun, educational evening. Geared toward wine enthusiasts and casual drinkers alike, our certified sommelier will walk you through proper tast­ing and serving techniques, allowing you to get the most out of your wines.  You’ll learn about viticultural history and varietal differences from a wine service professional, while sampling several of Chateau Elan’s premium wines and snacking on cheese. This educational wine tasting event goes beyond the basics, allowing you to experience firsthand the difference temperature, age, glassware and food pairings make on your sensory perception of each sip. 


Par­tic­i­pa­tion must be booked as part of our Wine Tast­ing Expe­ri­ence Overnight Pack­age for Two, which includes deluxe overnight accommodations at the Inn. Lim­ited space avail­able. Takes place in the Win­ery at 7 p.m. and lasts approx­i­mately 1.5 hours.

Winemaker Wanna Be

Calling all wine lovers! Come spend the evening at Chateau Élan and become an apprentice winemaker. The evening begins with a private guided tour of the vat room where you will learn all about the winemaking process. From harvest to glass, you'll follow the grapes' journey through the back-of-house all the way to the tasting bar. The tour is followed by a guided tasting with cheese pairings, and you'll put your winemaking knowledge to the test as you pick out the different scents and flavors of the grapes and aging process. Each pair will use what they've learned to blend their own wine and create a bottle that is customized to their personal palates. You will also have the opportunity to personalize a custom label for your wine which will be delivered to your room upon completion.

Taste of Georgia


Taste of Georgia is a wine education event that focuses on wine pairings with samplings of a highlighted food crafter for the evening. Georgia is full of culinary artistry and we like to join forces with one or more at each Taste of Georgia event to highlight Chateau Élan wines, Georgia’s best food artisans, and the art of pairing wine with food. Enjoy a fun evenining with an educational food and wine pairing. Enjoy a sample of cheeses from local producers, breads from a local award-winning bakery, olive oil from the East Coast’s only commercial olive farm or desserts from local crafters. Tasty samplings and great conversations are sure to be had!
