Wine Tasting at Chateau Elan

At the heart of Chateau Elan is our esteemed winery: the first of its kind established in the region since Prohibition. Whether you’re a guest of our resort or a day visitor, we heartily invite you to visit this pride-and-joy of ours—and, naturally, to taste some of the award-winning vino it produces!

Wines at Chateau Elan

We create a wide array of fine wines here at the Chateau Elan Winery spread across several different series. These include our Muscadine Wines, made with the nutrient-packed muscadine grape native to the American Southeast, as well as our super-premium “Fingerprint” Edition bottles.

The quality of Chateau Elan wines hasn’t got unnoticed, to put it mildly: We’ve earned better than 300 national and international wine awards, making us the East Coast’s most-awarded winery for the past several years. Those honors include seven awards at this year’s illustrious San Francisco Chronicle Wine Judging Competition, where our Chardonnay 2016 took “Gold” and our Les Petits 2015 nabbed “Double Gold” amid several “Silver” medals.

Wine Tastings at Chateau Elan

Swing by the Chateau Elan Winery and explore our wines’ complex and wide-ranging flavor profiles with a friendly tasting. We offer four basic wine tastings: the Southern Fox ($25), a five-tasting flight with an optional sixth pour featuring sweet and muscadine wines; the American ($25) and the Old World ($25), the same basic setup focused on reserve and muscadine wines and reserve and premium wines, respectively; and the Chateau Grandeur ($63), which combines a guided tour of our production facilities and vineyards with a pre-selected eight-tasting flight paired with chef-selected cheeses and other appetizers.

Winery Tours

Besides tastings, you can also get a behind-the-scenes look at Chateau Elan Winery operations via the guided tours we offer Tuesdays through Sundays, which are complimentary for overnight guests. (If you’re visiting our winery as a group of 12 or more, reservations are required for these winery tours.)

And speaking of groups, we do offer special winery packages for such parties: our 1.5-hour Group Signature Tour & Tasting and our 2.5-hour Group Premiere Tour & Tasting. These are fabulous combo experiences that follow up a comprehensive guided look at our winemaking process with a curated tasting flight that includes chef-selected eats.

You do need to reserve a ticket if you want to guarantee attending (especially on a Saturday). Other days you can sometimes show up day of and still get a spot.
